How to Change the Disney+ App Language from German to English

Your Disney+ app is showing menus in German (Deutsch) and you need to switch it back to English. Follow the 5 steps below — we’ve included the exact German menu labels so you can navigate even when you can’t read them.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1
Open the Disney+ app and go to your profile icon
Open the Disney+ app on your device. Look for your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen and tap on it.
2
Select “Edit Profiles”
A menu will appear. Tap “Edit Profiles” — in German this option appears as “Profile bearbeiten”.
In German: “Profile bearbeiten”
3
Choose the profile you wish to edit
Select the specific profile whose app language you want to change. If you only have one profile, tap that one.
4
Select “App Language” and choose English
Scroll down within the profile settings and tap “App Language” — in German this reads “App-Sprache”. Then select English from the list.
In German: “App-Sprache”
5
Tap “Done” to save your changes
Tap “Done” — shown as “Fertig” in German — to confirm and apply your new language setting.
In German: “Fertig”
💡 Tip: The app language setting is per-profile on Disney+. If you have multiple profiles, you may need to repeat these steps for each one. The change takes effect immediately — no need to restart the app.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Disney+ app in German?
Disney+ sets the app language based on your profile settings. It may have changed after a software update, a region change, or if someone else edited the profile.
Will changing the app language affect my subtitles or audio?
No. The app language controls the menus and interface only. Your audio and subtitle preferences are set separately within each title you watch.
What does “App-Sprache” mean in Disney+?
“App-Sprache” is the German translation of “App Language” — the profile setting where you choose which language the Disney+ interface displays in.
I can’t find the “Profile bearbeiten” option — what should I do?
Make sure you tap your profile icon first, not the general settings icon. On some older app versions the option may be under “Account” instead. Try updating the Disney+ app if the option is missing.
