If you're seeing Error code 39 on your Chromecast, the steps below walk you through the most common fixes.
This is a hardware handshake issue (HDCP). It usually means your HDMI cable or port isn’t communicating correctly with your TV. Try a different HDMI port or a high-speed HDMI cable.

Chromecast with Google TV: Settings > Apps > See all apps > the app > Clear cache, then Clear data.
Older Chromecast (cast only): there is no on-device app — clear the cache of the app on the phone/tablet you cast from.
1. From the home screen, go to Settings > Apps.
2. Select See all apps.
3. Choose the app and select Uninstall.
1. Press the Assistant button or select Search.
2. Say or type the app name.
3. Select Install if available.
Play Store → My Apps → find the app → Update.

3. Select About and then System update.
Press the power button on the remote.

Unplug the power from the wall outlet
1.Unplug modem from wall.
2.Wait 1 full minute.
3.Plug modem into wall, wait a few minutes for modem to reconnect to the internet.
