Basic troubleshooting steps for Fire TV

Clear cache / data on Fire TV

1. Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.

2. Select the app.

3. Choose Clear cache, then Clear data if the issue continues (this logs you out).

Delete app on Fire TV

1. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.

2. Select the app.

3. Choose Uninstall.


Install app on Fire TV

1. From the home screen, go to Apps.

2. Search for the app.

3. Select Get or Download.

Update App on Fire TV/Firestick

Appstore → Menu → Updates Available → select app → Update.

Update Fire TV/Firestick Software



1. Go to Settings on your Fire TV/Firestick.

2. Select My Fire TV or Device & Software.

3. Select About.

4. Select System update.

Turn off Fire TV/Firestick

Press the power button on the remote.

This will only put the Fire TV/Firestick into sleep mode.

For Fire TVs/Firesticks it is recommended to restart from settings instead.

Turn off Fire TV/Firestick & Unplug

Press the power button on the remote.

This will only put the Fire TV/Firestick into sleep mode.

Unplug the power from the wall outlet.

Restart Modem

1.Unplug modem from wall.

2.Wait 1 full minute.

3.Plug modem into wall, wait a few minutes for modem to reconnect to the internet.

Restart Fire TV/Firestick from Settings

1. Go to Settings.

2. Select My Fire TV (or Device & Software on some models).

3. Select Restart.

4. Select Restart again to confirm.
